National Archaeology Week is on again 16-23 May 2004! So check out the nationwide events planned for the National Day of Celebration.
National Archaeology Week (May 16-23, 2004) aims to increase public awareness of Australian archaeology and the work of Australian archaeologists both at home and abroad, and to highlight the importance of Australia's unique archaeological heritage. Many people are interested in archaeology and enjoy learning about the past but few are aware of the fascinating archaeology that can be found in their own city, town, region and state.
During National Archaeology Week there will be an exciting program of archaeological events and activities, including excavations, and public lectures, films, seminars, exhibits and demonstrations at venues throughout the nation.
In Queensland, hear about Otzi the Iceman at the Official Opening;
