Australian Archaeology: 30 Years of Australian Archaeology, 1974-2003
In 2003, the journal Australian Archaeology celebrated its 30th year of publication. Established in 1974 as a newsletter for Australia's archaeological community, Australian Archaeology has grown to its current status as the flagship journal of the Australian Archaeological Association Inc. Over the years, the journal has played an important role in fulfilling the Association's aim of promoting the advancement of archaeology in Australia.
To mark this anniversary, the first 30 years of Australian Archaeology (Volumes 1-57) have been digitised and compiled on a single DVD. Every article, report, editorial, letter, book review, thesis abstract and more is included as searchable, full-text, Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF) files. The archive offers a single central resource for archaeologists, students, Indigenous communities and others with an interest in the development and direction of archaeology in Australia over the last three decades.
The digitisation of Australian Archaeology was coordinated by the AAA Electronic Archive subcommittee, comprising Michael Haslam, Luke Kirkwood and Sean Ulm.
